Arthur Hays Sulzberger, newspaper executive

While working at the Worldwide Big 4 CPA firm Ernst and Young in the Los Angeles office, I spent a large amount of my time doing Litigation Services and went through their training courses and was trained by Senior Partners. I was trained by John Costello who was considered the top Litigation consultant and Expert Witness in Southern California at the time.

I have testified in Federal Court in LA and San Francisco about 10 times.

I have been deposed and have helped lawyers with their depositions about a hundred times over the 10 years.

Services Performed

  1. Helping lawyers understand the financial parts of their case.
  2. Sitting next to lawyers as they perform depositions of financial information. I would whisper in my lawyer’s ear to help him form a question or contest an assertion.
  3. Good at reviewing hundreds of boxes loaded with information obtained by lawyers to find the important vs un important pieces of information to help our case.
  4. Preparing trial exhibits of financial information.
  5. Testified as an expert witness on many subjects including valuation of assets and explaining complex financial information to the jury.

In 1980, ATT Phone Company was found to be guilty of being a monopoly and were promptly sued for $ billions by numerous companies hurt by their monopoly. I was hired through Sidley and Austin Top Law firm to defend ATT against these damage claims. The USC head of the Accounting department and the author of my Accounting text book represented the plaintiff and computed $1 Billion in damages. After my extensive review of the financial records and recreating past financial information. Due to my presentation of my work, the case was settled for $10 million.

Six months ago, I worked on a very complex and tense divorce for my client who was a Doctor and owned a Doctors practice. I had to come up with a list of about 20 assets and put a value on them. Including the active Doctor’s office, real estate, land, residence, cars and boats. Both sides of the divorce accepted my list of assets and their valuation.

Other Cases I have worked on include.

  1. Fraud cases and where did the money go.
  2. Anti trust
  3. Racketeering
  4. Divorce and business break ups
  5. Review of documents
  6. Trial exhibits
  7. Many others over 10 years
  8. Bankruptcy
  9. Valuation of assets

I was hired by the IRS for one case involving $ millions.

I was hired on another case by the Special Investigation Division of the Department of Justice involving $ millions.

And I have also testified in cases brought by the IRS and Department of Justice.

My fee is $150 per hour or an agreed fixed fee for the job.
